Uniform

The Saints NetSetGo uniform consists of white short-sleeve sports polo, teal blue netball skirt, black sports underwear, white socks and sports shoes.

In cold weather, players may play with a long sleeve white t-shirt underneath their white short-sleeve sports polo.  Jumpers and tracksuit pants are not permitted, even if they are in the Saints colours.

For the safety of all players, nails must be cut short and all jewellery removed (taping of earrings is not permitted).

Game Times and Duration

Game times vary between 8:30am-12:30pm at Heffron Park on Saturday mornings.  Games consist of 4 x 15 minute quarters.  The game time can only be confirmed when the Randwick Netball Association issues the draw for the season.

After the last game of the NetSetGo season, the Randwick Netball Association holds a short presentation ceremony where each player is presented with a trophy and a “goodies bag” for their participation in the NetSetGo competition.

The Randwick Netball Association has adapted the match duration rule to 4 x 15 min quarters to fit with their competition timing.

Managers

All NetSetGo teams should have a Manager (parent/carer of a player). The Manager is the middle person between the Saints Netball club and individual players and their carers – it is important for keeping the team well informed and allowing the coach to concentrate on coaching!

Wet Weather

The Randwick Netball Association may cancel NetSetGo games due to wet. Sometimes the decision is not made until 5 minutes before the first NetSetGo game. Teams will be notified via their Manager or Coach.

Short of Players

A NetSetGo team can take the court with only five players but if possible, the Manager/Coach should arrange to “borrow” one or more players.  Players can be borrowed from another Saints team in the same age group or the age group below or even from the opposition team. Saints NetSetGo teams will receive a contact list of the other Saints Managers/Coaches so that this can be organised well in advance of the game.

Note that players are only allowed to play one game per day so it is important that their name does not appear on two score cards in the one day. Note also that once a player has filled in more than three games in another team they are considered to be part of that team and can no longer play for their original team.

Forfeit

A NetSetGo team must forfeit the game if it has less than 5 players. The Manager/Coach should advise the Saints Club Secretary by Friday 5pm at the latest if it is known in advance that the team will have to forfeit.

The Saints Club Secretary will also advise the Manager/Coach if there has been a forfeit by the opposition.

Score card

Although there is no scoring in NetSetGo games, the score card is used to record the names of the players of each side and for the officials’ signatures.

The first team mentioned in the draw is responsible for the collection of the score card (from the Control Centre) prior to the game.

It is the Manager’s responsibility to collect the score card (if first named in the draw), record the players’ names, obtain the required team officials’ signatures, ensure the opposition complete their side and arrange for the completed score card to be returned to the Control Centre.
